Why Lifestyle Beer
We created Hardline because we believed beer could be done better. Not lighter for the sake of it, but brewed with a better nutritional profile and fewer unnecessary elements. Hardline Lifestyle Beer is designed to be a healthier option, with no residual sugar and a naturally lower carbohydrate, lower calorie composition. It is about making a beer you can enjoy regularly without the usual trade-offs.
Our Story
Hardline began with one bucket in a garage and a clear objective: to brew the healthiest beer we could without sacrificing flavour. The idea came directly from Andrew Caird, owner and brewer, whose background as a pro elite mountain bike Category 1 Road shaped the way he thought about food, recovery and discipline. Training hard, eating well and then undoing that effort with a beer full of residual sugar never made sense. Hardline was built to offer a better alternative — a beer that fits an active, considered lifestyle rather than working against it.
Our Philosophy
We believe what you drink regularly matters. While beer will always be an indulgence, it does not need to be loaded with unnecessary sugars or stabilisers. Our philosophy is simple: brew honestly, remove what does not need to be there and focus on balance rather than excess. Great beer should feel considered, not careless.
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability at Hardline is built into how we operate, not added as an afterthought. A significant proportion of our brewing is powered by on site solar energy, reducing reliance on grid electricity and lowering the carbon intensity of production. We design our processes to minimise waste at every stage, from careful water management during brewing and cleaning, to reusing cleaning solutions where appropriate to reduce unnecessary chemical disposal.
All spent grain is returned to local cattle feed, and used yeast and hops are composted or repurposed wherever possible. We actively look at packaging efficiency, transport planning and production scheduling to reduce avoidable emissions and unnecessary movement. Sustainability for us is about steady operational improvement and measurable responsibility, not grand claims.

Through careful fermentation management and disciplined recipe design, we produce beers with no residual sugar and a naturally improved nutritional profile compared to many mainstream alternatives. Nothing is stripped of flavour and nothing is over engineered. The focus is depth, drinkability and technical precision.

Some have many years in the drinks industry, others are earlier in their careers, bringing fresh thinking and energy to the brewery. We are a modern and dynamic company.
